Fresno Unified School District Board Policy states that a child's absence must be cleared within 72 hours of an absence or it is calculated towards truancy.
The Fresno Unified School District sends notifications regarding absenteeism and truancy to inform parents of students not meeting the attendance expectations of our district.
As a school of choice, Cooper Academy has high expectations related to attendance. Students receiving excessive absences may result in a transfer revocation.
Important notes for parents:
3 student tardies equate to 1 full day of absence
1 tardy of more than 30 minutes equates to a designation of truant
Following 14 excused absences regardless of the reason, every subsequent absence will have to be cleared by doctor's note.
